Palmetto occupies the north bank of the Manatee River, directly across the water from downtown Bradenton and connected to it by bridge in a few minutes. It has kept more of an old Florida, small-town feel than its larger neighbor, with a historic downtown core and a working waterfront around Regatta Pointe Marina.
Buyers come to Palmetto for a mix of things: character homes near the historic district, boating access on the river, waterfront property on Snead Island, and newer, more affordable subdivisions built out along the US 301 and I-75 corridor to the east.
