Pinellas County, FL

Seminole

A quiet, centrally located Pinellas suburb minutes from the county's beaches.

Overview

Seminole is a compact city in western Pinellas County, incorporated in 1970 and completely surrounded by its neighbors: Largo to the north, Pinellas Park to the east, St. Petersburg to the south, and Indian Rocks Beach and Madeira Beach just to the west. The city takes in the lower half of Lake Seminole, and the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail runs along its edge through Seminole City Park.

Housing is largely single-family homes built from the 1960s through the 1980s, on a fairly compact grid without much room left for large new subdivisions, which means most listings here are resales rather than new construction. What Seminole offers instead is location: a short drive to Gulf beaches like Indian Rocks Beach and Madeira Beach, and a central position relative to St. Petersburg, Largo, and Clearwater.

Legacy Real Estate Associates represents buyers and sellers relocating to or investing in Seminole. We are based in Bradenton, not Pinellas County, but Seminole is part of the Southwest Florida market we work regularly, and a Seminole transaction gets the same level of contract review and negotiation as one closer to home.

Questions

Seminole FAQ

Does Legacy Real Estate Associates have an office in Seminole?
No. Legacy is based in Bradenton and does not keep a Pinellas County office. We represent buyers and sellers relocating to or investing in Seminole as part of our broader Southwest Florida practice, and we manage the logistics of an out-of-area transaction as a routine part of that work.
Is Seminole on the water or near the beach?
Seminole itself is inland and includes the lower half of Lake Seminole, a freshwater lake rather than a saltwater beach. Gulf beaches at Indian Rocks Beach and Madeira Beach are both a short drive west, which is part of why buyers who want beach access without beachfront prices often look at Seminole.
Is there much new construction in Seminole?
Not much. The city is largely built out on a compact grid, so most available homes are resales from the 1960s through the 1980s rather than new subdivisions. Buyers looking specifically for new construction may need to look at less developed parts of the county.
What should sellers know about pricing a home in Seminole?
Because the city is small and mostly built out, recent, closely comparable sales on the same or nearby streets tend to matter more than broad citywide figures. Proximity to Lake Seminole Park or the beaches to the west can also affect value, so we weigh those factors specifically for each listing.
